Parental involvement

The collaboration between parents and the daycare is an important pillar in the relationship of Bio Kids. A strong foundation is essential and starts with a mutual understanding, mutual acceptance with open discussion, and close cooperation between the educators and the parents to provide the best for the children.

Documentation of the development of the child being cared for provides the basis for parent-teacher talks. These observations are made using tools from the development tables of Prof. Dr. E. Kuno Beller. This gives parents an overview of the development of their child. The results are provided in a graphical format.

Parent association

The Parent Association (Elternbeirat) of Bio Kids is elected once a year: Election procedures are governed by the specifications of the Association of Bavarian Nurseries e. V. (Arbeitsgemeinschaft bayerischer Kindertageseinrichtungen e. V.).

To contact the Parent Association, see the posting in the daycare.

The Parent Association represents the interests of parents and is kept regularly informed of changes and news.

The Parent Association supports the daycare in the preparation of parties and celebrations. There is a constant exchange of ideas/views on the further development of the educational work and the educational concept. Staff and management are happy to provide information about this.

Concept Deutsche Version

Our goal - Our educational concept

The open house concept connects consistently open work in "clusters" and functional areas, the principles of child self-education through self-activity, an upbringing that integrates mind, soul and body, and the teaching of democratic values. Childhood is recognized as a distinct stage of life and the children can live out their needs and wants.

This educational concept is addressed to parents and educators of the childcare center Bio Kids. The goal is to provide a framework that describes the work in the facilities. This framework reflects the current state of the concept. The pedagogical concept is a starting point for further development and reflection.

The educational work in the daycare is based on scientific evidence on learning and childhood development as well as teaching the values and skills of a pluralistic and multicultural society. Work is non-denominational and based on democratic values. The Bio Kids staff will do its part to ensure that the children have a good time and provide them the basis for an optimistic and happy life.

Especially in the daycare's functionally structured time, game and free play time offers the children opportunities to freely explore and learn how to become independent.

Through their promotion of this daycare, the member companies of the association show their interest in supporting the careers of parents and a willingness to take on responsibility beyond employment.

Our comprehensive educational approach is available below as PDF for download in various languages.

Acclimation

Based on evidence and research on bonding, our acclimatization period with the children is of great importance and established very carefully. A close cooperation and support from parents is essential.

Theoretical background

Bonding is the special relationship of a child to parents or persons caring for it continuously. The intense feelings of closeness to selected caregivers is an important and basic human need. Only the existence of an attachment figure, which represents the so-called "safe base", enables the child to be open and curious about his or her environment. Through reliable, sensitive support in distressing or threatening situations, the child acquires self-esteem and the necessary confidence in his or her social environment. A successful adaptation phase provides a solid basis for a trusting closeness at Bio Kids for many years.

If the acclimation has not been positive, we support the parents in the search for a different daycare.

Bilingual upbringing

An important pillar of our educational philosophy

Everyone is talking about bilingual upbringing. How does this work at Bio Kids?

Age

Children up to age 6, due to their particularly strong ability to imitate their role models, can achieve equivalent language pronunciation and intonation.

Especially very young children can learn a second or third language in addition to the mother tongue. Furthermore, the early learning of languages provides a significant contribution to the cognitive development of children. The following teaching methods are important:

Native speaker

For language acquisition in children, a "native speaker" (i.e., a person that has learned the language from birth as their mother tongue) is useful. Children learn in play, songs and fun activities. They naturally acquire speech rhythm, melody and intonation as well as the sentence structure and the punctuation of a language and slowly learn to use them.

First comes understanding, then using!

One person, one language

It is crucial that throughout the care period all persons in the daycare speak in their own language consequently. The native speaker speaks exclusively the foreign language, in our case English. The English-speaking person should master the native language of the children so that the children can go to them with any questions or concerns.

The immersion method

Immersion means "language bath". The new language is colloquial and everyday language. At the beginning, everything in the new language is reinforced and explained by signs, pictures, gestures and facial expressions. Rules and vocabulary are not important at this time. The children learn unconsciously. First, they understand, and then gradually begin to speak. The "language bath" method is child-friendly and thus well-suited for the daycare. The children are introduced to the new language at their own pace without any pressure. Children learn intuitively through immersion.
